2025大阪・関西万博ランドスケープデザインコンペ

ランドスケープコンサルタンツ協会主催の万博会場づくりに関するランドスケープデザインコンペにて、優秀賞を受賞した。
2025 大阪・関西万博において、造園界もこれまでの経験を活かしつつ世界の都市づくりや地球環境の課題解決に向けて新しい潮流を生み出していくべきとの認識のもと、本コンペが実施された。 万博の開催意義として強調されるSDGsの推進を受け、コンペの募集テーマは「いのち輝く万博会場の風景デザイン」とされた。未来社会の実験場となる会場のランドスケープデザインプラン、SDGs 達成につながる提案が求められた。
提案の骨子は大きく４つある。１つ目は水際線の自然環境再生であり、グレーインフラに覆われた都市部の水際に自然的要素を挿入していく。２つ目に富栄養化水域の自浄作用を向上させるとして、浄化槽の処理水を生物浄化で更に水質改善して海に放流する。３つ目は減災効果の高い護岸整備である。傾斜が10％にも満たない非常に緩い傾斜を持つ堤防を造成する。４つ目が都市施設のエコロジカルネットワーク化であり、野鳥園に準ずる生態的ポテンシャルを持つ夢洲の環境を評価し、大阪湾の埋立地におけるグリーンコリドーの形成に寄与する。
具体的なデザインとして、防波堤を階段状の緩傾斜堤防に置き換え、水生植物のカスケードとすることを提案した。緩衝帯として水際線を馴染ませ、水質改善や生態維持を図り、高波や地震発生時の減災効果も狙った。計画範囲を地形、植物、機能の観点からゾーニングし、利用、観賞、自然回復などの目的を持ったエリアを設定した。
大阪・関西万博は、これまで成長モデルを歩んできた大都市において、将来的には縮退を射程に見据えつつ成熟化を図る転換点の契機であり、堤防という都市施設が夢洲に棲む生き物の受け皿となる環境装置となることが提案のコンセプトである。
We received award of excellence from the landscape design competition regarding Osaka Kansai Expo 2025 hosted by CLA. This competition aims that landscape architects should address new trend for future urban design and global environmental issues. Theme in the competition is “Landscape design of Expo 2025 for brilliance future”. We are asked to propose an experimental landscape planning and design to archive SDG’s.
Our proposal has four main points as below.
(1)Restoration for natural environment on the edge of water by installing natural elements in the gray infrastructural edge of the water
(2)Utilization of bioremediation technology to discharge the purified water
(3)Development of disaster mitigation see wall by reclaiming the landform to less than 10% gentle slope
(4)Ecological networking by connecting urban facilities. Yumeshima are, Expo 2025 site is evaluated as high ecological potential area which is similar with a wild bird habitat area and it can contribute to create green corridor in the reclaimed land in Osaka Bay area
The existing edge of the water will be replaced by step like gentle slope seawall and it can be a cascade for aquatic vegetation. This structure of gentle section is expected to prevent tidal waves as well as ecological and water quality improvement. We divided planning area into several zones from the aspects of topography, vegetation and function, then set specialized area with purpose of using, watching, and restoring.
Expo 2025 is expected to be a turning point from the existing growth model of metropolis into maturation of the future city. Our proposal mainly focuses on seawall which has great potential to be an ecological habitat and green infrastructure of the future urban environment.
